LOS ANGELES, Apr 28, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Vertical Computer Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: VCSYE) announced today that it has merged with Scientific Fuel Technology, Inc., ("Scientific") a 1934 Act fully reporting company on April 27, 2000. 
                    
                    
Pursuant to the merger and under the provisions of Rule 12g-3 of the Exchange Act, Vertical Computer Systems, Inc. will assume the reporting obligations of Scientific by electing successor issuer status which will cause Vertical Computer Systems, Inc. to become a fully reporting company. Combined financial statements of Scientific and Vertical Computer Systems, Inc. are being completed and the Company expects to file the appropriate 8-K by May 2, 2000.
